چکیده

The DISCUS framework is a generic reusable software architecture that provides high levels of interoperability between Imagery related applications. DISCUS is also a working government furnished testbed that integrates commercial and government software together including imagery applications, mensuration, office automation, mapping, and databases. In the DISCUS experiment we have shown that it is possible to reengineer custom systems, so that they are readily interoperable with commercial products (and component software algorithms) and upgrade gracefully as technology evolves and the mission changes. DISCUS effectively utilizes readily available commercial infrastructure (i.e. CORBA) and is synergistic with OMG initiatives that are producing consensus standards for interoperability. DISCUS uses open systems standards in a highly effective way, so that standards references models have enhanced impact.

Use of Ontology to Facilitate the Creation of Synthetic Imagery of Industrial Facilities

Algorithms which perform auto-annotation of remotely sensed imagery need to undergo verification and validation (V&V) such that the end user can make a fitness-foruse judgment regarding their particular application and can be assured of a high level of confidence in achieving success. Synthesizing these data is one means of obtaining the imagery required to conduct benchmark testing. This paper...

Characterizing and Correcting Residual RFI Signatures in Operationally Processed ALOS-PALSAR Imagery

Radio-frequency interference (RFI) has long been identified as a problem in L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), as it is limiting the application, performance, and data quality of SAR at many areas around the globe. Several algorithms for RFI mitigation have been developed throughout the recent decades (Le, et al., 1998; Reigber and Ferro-Famil, 2005; Rosen, et al., 2008) in response to this...

Assisted Interpretation of Infrastructure Facilities from Aerial Imagery

The evaluation of a country’s critical infrastructure requires a detailed analysis of facilities such as airfields, harbors, communication lines and heavy industry. To improve the interpretation process, an interactive support system for the interpretation of infrastructure facilities from aerial imagery is developed. The aim is to facilitate the training phase for beginners, increase the flexi...

Statistics and Visualization of Radio Frequency Interference

This paper gives a summary of the results of a radio frequency interference mitigation project. Radio frequency interference (RFI) is a problem radio astronomers are facing increasingly in recent years. The goals of this project were: 1) investigate the cost vs. benefits of real-time RFI flagging, 2) determine ways of statistically flagging RFI by doing noise simulations, and 3) to develop a vi...

Real - Time Technologies Rfi Response

This document is in response to the OMG Real-Time technologies RFI (ORBOS/9609-02). It is intended to provide responses to Requirements, Approach, Categories, Architecture and Technology aspects for integrating real-time technologies into OMG’s CORBA. This response is based on work done in the ReTINA ACTS project (project AC048) which purpose is to develop a flexible, real-time ORB, and on the ...
